Q. If we do not qualify to have our wedding in Menorca, but we love the place, what else can we do?
A. Most couples now seem to be opting for having their union 'blessed' here after having a simple civil ceremony in the U.K.
The ceremony is carried out by a priest and is very similar to the actual wedding ceremony, it can also take place in a church, or at your chosen location (within reason of course) Cost wise it's about the same as a full ceremony and involves a donation to the church which is normally around 200€
Q. We are on a tight budget so how much does it cost?
A. This is obviously a very difficult question to give a definitive answer to, as it varies greatly depending on your requirements. For this purpose we ask you to complete the enquiry form which will enable us to give you a better idea of what it should cost. What we can tell you is that our fee is 2000€ which includes making arrangements for things like: The church, the reception, flowers/bouquets,
coach/minibus hire, wedding cars, Photographer, videographer, hairdresser/beautician, car hire, accommodation (if required) etc etc.
We will need a deposit of 20% of the total cost at the confirmation of order stage, 50% at 3months prior to the wedding & the final balance of 30% to be paid at no later than 30 days prior to the big day.
Q. Neither of us speak Catalan or Castellano (Spanish), will it be a problem?
A. Not at all, we are able to deal with any enquiries on your behalf. As for the actual ceremony, if this is given in Spanish, we have an official translator at hand who will translate all the proceedings.
Q. We would like our 'Day' to have a Spanish feel, is there anything simple we can incorporate to achieve this?
A. Most certainly there is, for example it is a local custom to 'auction' the garter of the bride and the tie of the groom to the highest bidder, or to cut both items into pieces and sell them to the guests at a set price, this is normally done by the best man. Also you could opt for all or part of the evening entertainment as classical Spanish music, have typical Menorcan or Spanish cuisine served at the reception, the list is endless but if you think it is something you would like, we can arrange it for you.
Q. How will we transport ourselves and our guests from arrival until departure:
A. several ways are available, we can arrange for minibus and full size coaches if you are all travelling on the same flight. We can also arrange competitive car hire for you and those members of your party that prefer to be a little more independent, from reputable locally based companies. For parties that are travelling separately this will probably prove to be the best option.
Q. When is the best time of the year for us to have our wedding in Menorca?
A. The 'Summer season' is May ~ October , with July & August being 'high season' therefore the most expensive, but with the highest temperatures, (30c) and the highest number of tourists (not ideal if you want to be married on a beach maybe!) March & April are spring when the island is at it's prettiest, however not all amenities are open, like resort supermarkets, some bars and restaurants etc. But accommodation and the wedding reception venue are likely to be at their cheapest. May & June, are less expensive than high season and everything is open for business and could be when the best deals are available. September & October, usually the 1st two weeks of September are very similar to August in most respects, then things quiten down, the temperature becomes a little easier (mid 20's c) and prices start to come down. November - February, November is considered to be the wettest month of the year and February the windiest, but still a strong possibility of sunshine for any of these four months, beware though, that for winter 2008/9 there is a very limited amount of direct flights from the U.K.
Q. Is there anything not available in Menorca that i will need to bring with me?
A. Probably not, most things are available here, if not 'off the shelf' then certainly 'to order' should there be something that you specifically require that is only available in the U.K. then we do have a reliable transport company here who make regular trips to and from at a reasonable cost.
Q. I want a wedding cake the same as something i have seen elsewhere, can you help?
A. We can certainly try, let us have a picture of what you would like, or a link to a web page and we will let you know if it is possible.
